From skating and nature programs to hands-on kids’ activities and live entertainment, the Innisfil destination is positioning itself as an easy day trip for families across Simcoe County.

Easy Winter Fun Without the Planning

One of the biggest draws during March Break is the resort’s outdoor skating rink in the Piazza, where families can skate for free when weather conditions allow. Skates and equipment are available to rent on-site, making it an easy last-minute outing.

For those looking to warm up indoors, the Games Room offers another option with arcade games, table games, and casual dining. Families can also try the TrackMan golf simulator or test their skills at street curling, a creative twist on the classic sport that swaps ice for a smooth indoor surface.

Outdoor Activities for Families Who Want to Stay Active

March Break programming also focuses heavily on getting families outside. Visitors can explore the Nature Preserve through hiking trails or take part in organized programming like guided family hikes and interactive nature experiences designed especially for younger visitors.

Special events scheduled during the break include Family Ball Hockey on March 15 and Nature Bingo on March 22. On March 20, the Kids’ Nature Olympics will bring families together for a series of outdoor challenges built around teamwork, exploration, and a little friendly competition.

Food, Entertainment, and Hands-On Experiences

Beyond recreation, Friday Harbour is also adding special dining experiences and family programming throughout the break.

Lake Club Restaurant will feature March Break menu specials from March 13 to 22, along with St. Patrick’s Day inspired dishes on March 17. Families looking for something different can also check out An Evening of Illusion on March 20, a dinner event combining magic, comedy, and live entertainment.

Young food lovers can also get involved directly. A kids’ cooking class on March 21 will give participants the chance to make their own sliders, pizzas, and decorated cookies.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations Add to the Lineup

March Break visitors will also find St. Patrick’s Day celebrations woven into the schedule. Events include themed nightlife programming and a Pot-o-Gold treasure hunt along the Promenade for younger visitors.

Turning a Day Trip Into a Getaway

For families wanting to extend their visit, overnight packages are also available during March Break, offering accommodations along with access to the resort’s amenities and activities.

Whether visiting for a few hours or making a weekend of it, Friday Harbour’s March Break programming offers a mix of outdoor recreation, entertainment, and family-friendly experiences designed to make the most of the season before spring officially arrives.
