Update:
Barrie police say a second youth has been arrested in connection with a fight near Bear Creek Secondary School on Tuesday.
Police allege the 15-year-old had a weapon, which investigators had said was described as a sheathed machete.
The teen was arrested on Thursday and has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of disguise with intent.
The investigation is ongoing.

One youth was arrested and charged after an altercation near Bear Creek Secondary School on Tuesday afternoon.
Barrie Police say just after noon, school staff reported a group of individuals who had come to the school for a pre-arranged fight. Some of them were reportedly wearing balaclavas.
Upon investigating, officers determined that several male youths gathered in a wooded area nearby, by had left prior to police arrival. It’s also believed that one individual was armed with a sheathed machete.
A 17-year-old male from Barrie suffered minor injuries as a result of the altercation but did not seek medical attention.
Eventually, a 15-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with assault.
Police say they are working to identify other individuals that were involved, including the one that was armed.
Additionally, it’s believed that it was an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.

South Simcoe Police have arrested and charged a 14-year-old youth after a “targetted and disturbing” assault on a disabled person from Bradford West Gwillimbury.
The youth turned themself in Tuesday after video of the violent assault had circulated online. It showed the victim being led to a secluded area where they were subjected to repeated acts of violence.
The youth, facing multiple counts of assault, has been released from custody with a court appearance at a later date.
Police say they had been actively investigating a series of incidents against the victim over the last few weeks in which they were deliberately targetted, harassed, and bullied by a group of youths.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests and charges may follow, according to police.
Police say parents and guardians should speak to their children about responsible use of social media and the consequences that can result from violent and bullying behaviour.
3) Three arrested in Midland in downtown Barrie shooting

Barrie Police arrested three people in Midland on Tuesday in relation to a shooting that occurred in downtown Barrie on Sunday morning.
The arrests came after the service’s Tactical Support Unit attended a residence on Fitton Street in Midland, where the three suspects were arrested without incident. There, a loaded .40 calibre handgun, believed to be connected to the incident, was also seized.
A 20-year-old Barrie man is facing 10 charges, many related to firearm offences, including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old Midland woman and a 23-year-old Barrie woman have been charged with being an accessory to attempted murder, while the younger has also been charged with theft of a cell phone.
A 30-year-old Barrie man was shot at close range following a group altercation outside a downtown nightclub just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, then transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious, but stable condition. He is currently recovering in hospital.
Through the investigation, officers recovered a spent shell casing from the scene and a projectile that had gone into a glass window of a business across the street from the shooting. There was also assistance from the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit in recovering evidence from Kempenfelt Bay.
No further suspects are being sought..
It’s believed additional images of the incident exist.
Police continue to appeal to the public for information.
4) Cyclist struck by vehicle in Barrie

Barrie police continue to investigate after a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle.
It happened on Friday morning at Mapleview Drive West and the Highway 400 southbound off-ramp.
A police communications spokesperson told Barrie 360 that the male riding the bike was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
5) Huronia West OPP make two impaired driving arrests to begin April

Less than a week into April, Huronia West OPP had already charged two individuals with impaired operation, both during the Easter weekend.
On Saturday just after 3 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 26 in Clearview, where they investigated for potential impaired driving.
As a result, a 41-year-old from Brampton was arrested and charged with impaired operation, driving with blood alcohol content exceeding the legal limit, and dangerous operation.
They are scheduled to appear before a Collingwood court on May 12.Then, on Monday, just after 3:30 p.m., officers received reports of a suspected impaired driver leaving a business on 45th Street South in Wasaga Beach.
Police say they found the vehicle shortly thereafter and met with the driver, who was subsequently arrested.
The 34-year-old man from Wasaga Beach was charged with impaired operation and failure to comply with a demand. His court date is set for May 19 in Collingwood.
“Drivers who are impaired by drugs and/or alcohol continue to pose a significant threat on Ontario roads,” the detachment wrote in a media release. “Failure or refusal to comply with a demand in an impaired operation investigation is a criminal offence. Furthermore, the consequences an individual will face are the same as being charged with impaired operation.
6) Speeding nearly double the limit leads to stunt driving charge for Barrie motorist

A need for speed was costly for a 55-year-old Barrie woman.
On April 3, police said they stopped a vehicle that was travelling 93 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Yonge Street near Coxmill Road.
As a result, the woman was charged with stunt driving and speeding.
Her driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and her vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Officers were called to a residence on Orchard Avenue around 5:00 a.m. on April 4, after receiving a report that three masked suspects had forced their way into the home. According to police, one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.
Once inside, the suspects were confronted by the homeowner. Police say one of the suspects fired a shot at the homeowner, but fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Following the confrontation, all three suspects fled the scene in a white Honda sedan.
Police describe the suspects as three Black males wearing dark clothing and face coverings. Investigators have obtained video footage from the residence and have released images of the suspects in an effort to identify them.
South Simcoe Police say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety. However, residents in the area of Orchard Avenue, Warnica Avenue, and Mapleview Drive East (east of 25th Sideroad) can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
Anyone with information, or anyone who may have surveillance or dash camera footage from the area between approximately 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on April 4, is asked to come forward.

8) Police investigating shooting that injured one in downtown Barrie

An early morning conflict reportedly escalated to gun violence Sunday morning in Barrie, leading to one man suffering serious injuries and prompting a police investigation.
Police say they responded to a call around 2:45 a.m. after a reported altercation outside a Dunlop Street nightclub led to a man being shot.
The 30-year-old victim was brought to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious, but stable condition, according to police.
Images of the alleged suspect have been obtained by police through surveillance video, and they are appealing to the public for any further information or aid in identifying them.
While the investigation is ongoing, police say it is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
Dunlop Street East was closed between Owen Street and Mulcaster Street for the on-scene investigation.
