Why learning about business exits is so important for entrepreneurs:

I’m getting in touch with GV grads to let them know about a new program I’ve added in 2025-26 to train businesses so they can obtain more value from their businesses at whatever time they decide to change directions, or transition out of their business.

Having learned about the competition for buyers due to the rates at which existing entrepreneurs were leaving their businesses, and the fact that many small businesses were unaware of the trend, led me to decide to invest in my own training on exit approaches (through the DMZ business incubator in partnership with the Toronto Metropolitan University).

I want to fill a gap for helping small business since Mergers & Acquisition firms (which have expensive methodologies) do not usually support small businesses (which are not lucrative enough). 

Because I wanted to understand the questions and issues that small businesses might experience in real time, I created my first pilot program in 2025. As a result I’ve developed effective and cost effective approaches that allow small businesses to prepare for exit ahead of the actual time they’d like to leave.

And I am now preparing to hold one more pilot in January or early February. Like the first pilot, I’m only charging 50% of my program fee for this process, in return for receiving input from my participants. 

The program is comprehensive, including elements such as: 

  • Methods to increase the efficiency and (sales) value of the business. This approach will also attract more buyers.
  • A review of the alternative methods of selling (and their strengths or challenges) 
  • Different sales approaches that can be used with different types of buyers
  • Methods to maximize financial return 
  • Material is delivered by me in addition to guest experts in the field (as we have always provided in Grow Vantage) 
  • Post-program support is included: individual coaching on plans, approaches, and involvement where needed in the sales process
