A bountiful amount of snow this winter made for an excellent ski season, but all good things must come to an end.
Horseshoe Valley Resort will end its ski season, weather pending, on Sunday, Apr. 5, while Mount St. Louis Moonstone will wind down its operations for another year, also on Sunday.
At Blue Mountain Resort, if the weather cooperates, there could be skiing until near the end of the month.
“We’ll ski ’till we can’t,” said Dan Skelton, President and CEO of Blue Mountain Resort, in a media release.
The resort remains open for skiing and snowboarding with a transition to spring operations now underway.
Blue Mountain has not announced an official closing date.
Lifts will run daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Apr. 12, and then shift to weekends only after that date.
Starting April 13, operations will shift to only weekends, with slopes closed Monday through Thursday.
“We have a lot of work to do to get ready for our summer operations which kick-off as of the May long weekend, but we can manage that work during the week and still keep the slopes going into late April,” added Skelton.
