As part of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Dunlop Street bridge replacement project, the Highway 400 northbound off-ramp to eastbound Dunlop Street, Exit 96A, will be fully closed for 30 days beginning August 4, 2026. The northbound off-ramp to westbound Dunlop Street, Exit 96B, will remain open.
To access Dunlop Street, drivers travelling northbound on Highway 400 will be directed to use the Essa Road off-ramp and follow the signed detour route along Essa Road and Anne Street. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted signage.
This work is part of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s ongoing Highway 400 project, which includes constructing a new, expanded bridge crossing at Dunlop Street over Highway 400 and widening the interchange to support future expansion of Highway 400.

Drivers in Bradford West Gwillimbury will soon see red light cameras at some of the town’s busiest intersections following provincial approval of a new traffic safety program.
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has announced it has received approval from the Ministry of Transportation to operate a Red Light Camera (RLC) program. The program, approved by council as part of the 2026 budget in November 2025, will see the installation of eight red light cameras across five intersections.
Town officials say the initiative is aimed at improving safety, reducing red light running and preventing collisions.
“The safety of our residents is always our top priority. Red light cameras will help make our roads safer by encouraging drivers to slow down and obey traffic signals,” said Mayor James Leduc. “This program is about preventing collisions; protecting pedestrians, cyclists and motorists; and creating safer intersections for everyone in our community.”
The camera system detects and captures images of vehicles entering an intersection after the traffic signal has turned red. The system takes two sequential photographs showing the vehicle approaching the stop bar and proceeding through the intersection.
The images are reviewed by a Provincial Offences Officer designated by the Ministry of Transportation before a penalty order is issued to the registered owner of the vehicle.
Penalties are issued under Ontario’s Administrative Penalty framework and do not affect vehicle insurance rates or result in demerit points.
Where the Cameras Will Be Installed
The town selected camera locations based on collision statistics, traffic volumes, red light running data and proximity to vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
The following intersections will receive red light cameras:
• Line 8 and Barrie Street (eastbound and westbound)
• Holland Street East and Bridge Street/Dissette Street (westbound)
• Holland Street West and Professor Day Drive/Melbourne Drive (eastbound and westbound)
• Holland Street West and West Park Avenue (westbound)
• Holland Street West and Sideroad 10 (eastbound and westbound)
Cameras Expected to Go Live in September
Residents can expect to see camera equipment and warning signs installed in the coming weeks as crews begin setup and testing.
Town officials say any activity observed before the official launch is strictly related to testing and calibration. The red light camera system will not begin issuing penalties until it becomes operational in September.
Additional public information about the program will be released ahead of the September launch, including details for motorists who may receive a penalty order.
