Accidents: Crash on Hwy. 12 in Tay Township claims life of a 25-year-old driver

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Tay Township, near Port McNicoll.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say emergency crews were called to Highway 12 between Triple Bay Road and Talbot Street just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say a 25-year-old man was found inside the vehicle. Officers and paramedics performed life-saving measures before the man was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police attended the scene, and Highway 12 was closed during the investigation, but has since reopened.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
