A real European circus is coming to Barrie and it’s nothing like you’d expect

If you’ve never seen a proper European-style circus, this is your chance. Nouveau Cirque Mondial makes its Barrie debut at RioCan Georgian Mall from May 1 to 10, and tickets are on sale now.
This is the French company’s first-ever North American tour, and Barrie is one of the stops. That alone makes it worth paying attention to.
What makes this different
This isn’t a flashy production built around special effects. Nouveau Cirque Mondial is 100% human. There are no animals, no CGI, just extraordinary performers doing things that will make you question what the human body is capable of.
The show runs about two hours and features 11 acts that blend seasoned international performers with exciting new talent. The lineup includes:
- Carmen and Vitalie Rosca — competitors on Season 13 of America’s Got Talent, delivering daring knife throwing and jaw-dropping feats of strength
- Alix Duclos Conchard — soaring through the air on aerial silks
- Randy Jose Leru Bell — a former Olympic gymnast from the Rio 2016 Games, performing gravity-defying Chinese Pole alongside castmates Andres Manuel Ortiz Bell and Yankiel Bello Balmaceda, plus a powerful hand-balancing display
- A lightning-fast juggler, a heart-stopping roller skating duo performing on a tiny platform, and an iridescent bubble artist rounding out the experience
