Just please be sure to fact-check everything that a generative AI system kicks out, okay? Stars or numbers? Researchers at Cornell University have found that consumers tend to overestimate star ratings, and underestimate number ratings. For example, if a product rating of 3.5 is displayed with stars versus standard numerals, consumers tend to think it’s closer to 4 than 3. Seems small, but it can have a big impact on consumer behaviour. |
