A few things we’ve found online that we hope you’ll enjoy or find useful.
- It’s been a big week for AI and copyright lawsuits. Meta and Anthropic both received early legal wins, with courts siding (for now) with the platforms instead of with the authors and copyright holders suing them. Meanwhile, Disney and Universal are joining the legal fray and suing Midjourney, and Microsoft is facing a new lawsuit from authors over how AI is trained.
- Camp Tech founder Avery Swartz was on The Good Stuff with Mary Berg this week, sharing summer tech products to help save you time. Watch the clip on YouTube here.
- Researchers at Anthropic (the company that makes the Claude chatbot) ran an experiment where an AI agent learned to blackmail a human to get what it wanted (!!!). It’s part of a broader look at “agentic misalignment”: what happens when an AI develops goals that don’t match ours.
